PETERS – Nostalgia is powerful but is it enough to sustain a Zellers revival?

THE NEWS OF THE ZELLERS REVIVAL engendered such an excited response this week, you would think this place was retail utopia.

Unique products at rock-bottom prices in a pleasant environment.

It’s puzzling, really.

For Kamloops residents, Zellers doesn’t have a lot going for it anymore.

It has a name, it has a logo and it has a sketchy-looking bear mascot named Zeddy who doesn’t wear pants, like a discount Winnie the Pooh.

And it has one more thing: memories.

    Zellers had a great coffee shop.they hired older ladies and it was the only place you could buy Skipbo a new very good very fun game. Like Kresges Woolworths, Sears,and Woodwards, it was an institution.We’re old folks,quite old actually and our world has all but disappeared.
