LETTER – Ellis Ross good reason to switch from BC Conservatives
Those who know me are very much aware that I have wanted a conservative option as a choice for myself, and the people of our province, as government in the B.C. Legislature. Regrettably, over the past decade, it seems that B.C.’s Conservatives have not been prepared to do what was needed to make that happen.
Our province needs a serious alternative to Premier Horgan’s NDP government, and I want to put my energy into something I feel will do that.
I have been impressed with (Skeena MLA) Ellis Ross for quite some time now – even before the BC Liberal leadership race began. When he spoke, I could see and hear the sincerity in his voice.
He has spoken on the need to unite all British Columbians, so that each one of us can benefit from the riches we have as a province; not just in what we can harvest and produce, but also in what each of us has to offer.
And I see in him someone concerned in what I believe in — small ‘c’ conservatism with a focus on good fiscal management, a belief in encouraging the qualities and strengths of the individual, and in strong social values.
One week ago, I asked that I be removed as a member of the BC Conservatives, because I had made the decision to support the leadership campaign of Ellis Ross.
Today, I am making that decision known to my friends, and people who know me. I hope you will join me in working and supporting Ellis Ross, so that together he can become the next Premier of British Columbia.
ALAN FORSETH
It would be nice to have details of the economic, social and environmental policies intended by this fellow. Furthermore and of upmost importance is a somewhat detailed plan of penalties should a promise be broken. Mr. Horgan himself did quite well in that regard, that is, he delivered most of what he said he was going to do and let’s not forget Mr. Horgan had to deal with some serious unpredictable and unprecedented issues, namely COVID-19.
What a joke…nostalgia for the good old days of Socred renamed Liberals..a misnomer if ever there was one, designed not to reflect the party character, but to ride the coattails of the federal Liberals, to whom they have very few similarities. And a chance to return to power the guys who gave us the decade of so-called progress and growth.. much of it sleazy, and most of which was going to happen even if Elmer Fudd had been…or should a say …had NOT been …our premier. BC is enjoying an unprecedentedly peaceful labor climate, a steady, reliable, healthy economy, and attention to human needs never seen in Socred days…Gee whiz,…..we could even have money laundering again…BC is for people, union or non labor union members, not crooks, money launderers, or neoLiberals reluctant to bare their old Socred selves…these guys would sell ICBC, sell our seniors homes, so some yankee investor could make a profit from increased rates…get a grip!
My support of Ellis Ross was not taken lightly — it was made because I believe he will bring about positive change to allow us to reach our full potential — no matter what our social status, ethnic background, young or old, or how deep anyone’s roots go in our province.
I hope you will take the time to look into the man, and regardless of whether you support the BC Liberals or not (I suspect not), you will see someone who is sincere in what he says, and is trying to do
Right, Ellis Ross is a conservative. The BC Liberal party has a lot of them.
