Those who know me are very much aware that I have wanted a conservative option as a choice for myself, and the people of our province, as government in the B.C. Legislature. Regrettably, over the past decade, it seems that B.C.’s Conservatives have not been prepared to do what was needed to make that happen.
Our province needs a serious alternative to Premier Horgan’s NDP government, and I want to put my energy into something I feel will do that.
I have been impressed with (Skeena MLA) Ellis Ross for quite some time now – even before the BC Liberal leadership race began. When he spoke, I could see and hear the sincerity in his voice.
He has spoken on the need to unite all British Columbians, so that each one of us can benefit from the riches we have as a province; not just in what we can harvest and produce, but also in what each of us has to offer.
And I see in him someone concerned in what I believe in — small ‘c’ conservatism with a focus on good fiscal management, a belief in encouraging the qualities and strengths of the individual, and in strong social values.
One week ago, I asked that I be removed as a member of the BC Conservatives, because I had made the decision to support the leadership campaign of Ellis Ross.
Today, I am making that decision known to my friends, and people who know me. I hope you will join me in working and supporting Ellis Ross, so that together he can become the next Premier of British Columbia.
