PETERS – Despite Dr. Henry’s words, we shouldn’t let vacationers off the hook

WHILE AN OUT-AND-PROUD WHITE NATIONALIST was putting his feet up on Nancy Pelosi’s desk this week, many Canadians of ostensibly better character were putting their feet up as well.
Except instead of participating in a ham-fisted insurrection facilitated by law enforcement, they were putting their feet up on tropical beaches around the world.
Almost uniformly across North America, public health officials and governments have been pleading with their constituents to avoid discretionary travel.

So sorry for the loss of your twin brother John. Agree totally with your post.
After my twin brother was diagnosed with a particular type of cancer, a friend of mine, who is a paramedic, advised me “go see him sooner than later”. In early December 2019, I did pay a visit, just to Nanaimo, to spend some time with him when he was still able to get around. Then the pandemic hit. We were asked to tow the line, stay put and avoid travel outside of our own bubble.
As it turned out, I felt it was not obeying Provincial guidelines to travel. Had I become infected or had taken Covid-19 to them, it would have maybe had awful consequences. I must live with guilt for not having gone to see my own twin as he went through his end of life.
A lot of other people wear the same shoes. We stayed put while our loved ones died.
Even though I have boldly supported Dr. Henry up to this point, I think that if she cannot make the tough decision to ask this fellow to resign, they both should go.
