PETERS – Horgan’s verbal diarrhea on the overdose crisis a serious misstep

A DELEGATION TO KAMLOOPS COUNCIL this week emphasized the importance of minding our language when talking about addiction and substance use disorder.
Two days later, it became apparent that the delegation should book a spot with Premier John Horgan next.
At his weekly media briefing, a reporter posed a question to Horgan comparing the government’s responses to the two public health emergencies ravaging B.C. right now.
The way it came out, though, was dismissive of the latter.
James Peters is the radio anchor at CFJC, coming to Kamloops in 2006. He anchors the afternoon news on B-100 and 98.3 CIFM, and contributes weekly editorials to the CFJC Evening News. He tweets regularly @Jamloops.
A momentary verbal stumble, one that the desperate for media time Liberals and a few malcontent reactionary columnists gleefully jump on, simply because sitting at their computer in air conditioned offices and homes, typing ad nauseum trigger fingered nothingness is better than mowing the lawn.
In other words … whatever … we get that this was all about satisfying Peters internal need to be divisive, and has little to nothing to do with the subject matter.
Now get out there and don’t forget to weed-whack first.
I have chronic pain from decades of heavy work and from sports injuries and chose to not rely on chemistry to manage the pain. I know I am just one example and the issues of pain management if very complicated. I chose not to condemn Horgan for not having all of the right answers all of the time. Mr. Peters, I do find your “opinions” disingenuous and misleading.
