POLICE – It was a bad night to be a criminal in Kamloops
Police in Kamloops were kept busy overnight (May 27, 2020) targeting criminals throughout the city.
A traffic stop in the downtown core netted a man with two outstanding warrants along with a replica gun, cattle prod, drugs and drug paraphernalia. Items were seized and the vehicle was impounded because of deficiencies. The man was to appear before a Judge this morning.
A stolen truck reported from 100 Mile house was located on Seymour Street and the lone occupant was arrested without incident. The occupant was released on an undertaking for a later court date.
A traffic stop on Tranquille Road netted a man for trafficking narcotics. During a search of the vehicle police located two loaded shotguns, knives, body armour, narcotics and more than $2,800 in cash. All the findings from the investigation will be forwarded to the Public Prosecution of Canada for review and consideration of charge approval.
Another proactive traffic stop ended with a man being arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking. A large quantity of narcotics and more than $3,600 cash was seized. “Excellent proactive Police work yielded significant amounts of drugs and weapons that were removed from the streets of Kamloops and quite a few offenders earned a well-deserved night in jail,” said Sgt. Jeff Bingley.
