POLICE – Cyclist suffers broken ankle when hit by pickup truck

A cyclist suffered a broken ankle when she was hit by a pickup truck while walking her bicycle across the roadway at Fortune Drive outside the North Shore Safeway store today (Aug. 25, 20170).

The incident occurred about 4:30 p.m. when she was struck by a silver pickup. RCMP are looking for more details on the vehicle.

The cyclist was taken to Royal Inland Hospital to be treated for the broken ankle and lacerations.

Kamloops RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance with the investigation. Anyone that may have witnessed or has information about the incident is asked to call the Kamloops RCMP at (250) 828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
