POLICE – RCMP vehicle rammed by stolen truck and trailer

An early morning break and enter into a storage compound in Savona resulted in road closure to Pacific Way south of Hugh Allen Drive and a damaged police vehicle.

At about 4:16 a.m. on April 20, 2026, Tk’emlúps rural RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter into a storage compound in Savona where a travel trailer was hooked up and towed away.  A little later police located the truck and stolen trailer in Kamloops and initiated a traffic stop.

“The driver of the truck and trailer allegedly rammed a police vehicle in an attempt to flee,” said Cpl. Dana Napier.

“While the police vehicle was damaged, the officer was not injured.

The truck then crashed into a fence causing damage and, as a result, Pacific Way was closed for about an hour.

Anyone with dash camera footage or who may know anything about the incident is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000, the Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP at 250-314-1800 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) and cite file 2026-11746.
