NEWS/ PINANTAN — Work is underway on a new convenience store for Pintantan. Digging began on the project on Saturday.

The original store was lost to a fire that burned it to the ground on Easter weekend. No one was injured in the fire.

Store owner Cory George said earlier plans went out for tender in June. Start of construction will be good news to Pinantan residents, who have been without a general store and post office since the fire.

Details of the plan for the new store weren’t yet available.
