Twenty-nine candidates are vying for one of eight seats on Kamloops City council in the Oct. 17, 2026 general local election. That’s close to a record number, and makes for a tough choice for voters.

Candidates have been door knocking, attending forums, pounding in signs and busily making their case on social media. Have you made your choices yet? Remember, eligible electors may vote for any number of councillor candidates up to a maximum of eight.

If you are sure of, or are impressed by, only three or four or five, you may vote for only those. If you favour only one candidate, vote for only one candidate. There’s no requirement to vote for eight.

So, for fun, let’s see how you’re doing with your decisions. Take the ArmchairMayor council election poll right here. Online polls of this kind are not regarded as scientific; they’re for entertainment only. Think of it as practice.
