Health minister sending the wrong message

LETTER — On Friday, June 13, Minister of Health Terry Lake will address a luncheon for members of the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce. I think it is safe to say that the audience will be solely composed of supporters of the Liberal Party of B.C.

Letter LMinister Lake is part of a government that is party to a lawsuit by the private Cambie Surgery Clinic that is trying to overturn the very concept of comprehensive public not-for-profit health care in violation of the Canada Health Act.

As Health Minister, Mr. Lake is defending the province against the Cambie Surgery Centre lawsuit. He boldly sends the wrong message by appearing at an event sponsored by another private for-profit health care clinic.

How can citizens expect the Health Minister to defend Canada’s universal and affordable medical system if he is out expressing, at the very least, support for businesses that aim to see it altered or ended?

Outrageous!

  1. Terry Lake may be an intelligent man, but nobody ever accused him of being a ” smart ” one.
