COMMUNITY/ SPORTS — Fans of all ages will have a chance to see the B.C. Lions in action and get their autographs at the 4th annual B.C. Lions Fanfest Day on Sunday, June 8.

The City and the Lions Football Club are hosting the Fanfest, presented by BG Egg, and are inviting fans of all ages to join in on the festivities.

Fanfest will take place from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Hillside Stadium. The Lions will be in action during their practice from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., followed by an autograph session at 3:15 p.m.

The Lions will also conduct a football clinic from 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m, offering local kids aged 6 – 13 a chance to learn from the pros. The Lions will participate in interviews throughout the day. Entertainment will include performances by the Felions (B.C. Lions cheerleaders) and a chance to meet Leo the Lion.

“We are excited to bring Fanfest to the City of Kamloops again this year,” said Jamie Taras, director of community relations for the BC Lions. “This is a tremendous opportunity for us to interact with and thank the fans, so come on out and meet the 2014 B.C. Lions.”

Other activities include inflatable games, face painting and a merchandise tent. Food and beverage services will be available including a BBQ lunch put on by Kamloops Lions Paddlewheelers, and local food truck Eats Amore will be on site, with proceeds going to Kamloops Community Football.
