POLICE – One person injured as shots fired on Chestnut Avenue

Four people are in custody as part of an investigation that saw multiple RCMP officers on Chestnut Avenue early this morning (Sept. 11, 2025).

Around midnight last night, Kamloops RCMP detachment officers were called to the 100-block of Chestnut Avenue, where shots were heard. One person was injured and has since been released from hospital.

Evidence shows that this was a targeted shooting, as with all shootings we are taking this seriously. Officers responded quickly and took four people into custody, said Cpl. Dana Napier, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson.

We are asking people to please avoid the area as our investigators are expected to remain at the scene throughout much of the day.

Anyone who witnessed or has information that may be related to this investigation is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and cite file 2025-30111.
