LETTER – There’s much to be thankful for from civic election campaign

It’s been just over a week since the Kamloops council elections. While I wasn’t successful on being elected, there is much to be thankful for.

First, thank you to everyone who voted, whether for me or other candidates.  Having so many people participate makes for a stronger community.

Second, thank you to all of the volunteers who helped in my campaign.  The organizers, sign crew, fundraisers, door knockers, technical support, and sign wavers were there again and again to help out.  I couldn’t have done it without you.

Third, thank you to all the generous donors.  There were so many generous folks who made it possible for me to get signs, advertisements, pamphlets and websites.

I talked to thousands of people during the campaign, and I deeply value the connections, whether new or old. Your voices matter.

I look forward to seeing folks in community in the days, weeks and years ahead.

Best wishes to the incoming council, who will be sworn in Nov. 2.

Thank you so much.

NANCY BEPPLE
