DRUG ALERT – IH issues warning against sale of fake ‘Dillies’ on Kamloops streets

Fake Dilaudid tablets that carry a high risk of overdose are being distributed in Kamloops, says Interior Health.
The agency issued a drug alert today (July 24, 2025) saying the tablets look like hydromorphone, sold under the brand name Dilaudid and commonly called Dillies on the street, and are being sold as such.
Interior Health said the counterfeit tablets contain N-propionyl parafluoronorfentanyl, a fentanyl analogue.
“This is a counterfeit (fake) tablet sold as Dilaudid,” stated IH. “It does not contain hydromorphone. It contains an unknown amount of a drug related to fentanyl.
“Using illicit tablets is not recommended due to the heightened risk of overdoes. Be away of risk of fakes, if not purchasing from a pharmacy.”
The drug alert remains in effect until July 31.
We are living in an incredibly sick community. A young man apparently took his own life in Peterson Creek Park. Read the story on Castanet. How many others have been sent to shelters in Kamloops but would rather be home?
If memory serves me right, didn’t our present Mayor have that same belief?
Maybe that man was right….the one who answered the door when I was taking AAP forms on Collingwood Drive. He said that for $25 a year, he wouldn’t have to live in “this shithole”. I guess it’s anyone’s guess.
