A toxic drug alert has been issued for Kamloops and the surrounding area.

Interior Health issued the alert today (Sept. 20, 2024), saying it was “due to increased fatal and ongoing non-fatal drug poisoning overdoses.”

The health agency said the drug poisoning overdose alert will remain in effect until Sept. 27. Users were urged not to use alone, to carry Naloxone, and to get their drugs checked.

  1. Be aware of heavy, full sized fire trucks responding full speed Code 3 as they approach busy intersections with air horns blaring.

Another weekend at “that time of the month” where sooner or later, an innocent family in a vehicle is going to be hit and killed because of this insanity.
