POLICE – Hiker rescued after slipping from Peterson Creek trail onto ledge
A hiker was rescued from Peterson Creek Park today (Feb. 28, 2021) after slipping off the Tom Moore Trail and hanging on to some brush on a ledge.
The 37-year-old called 911 asking for help.
Police and Kamloops Fire Rescue were deployed to the area and several RCMP members hiked into the park from the bottom and also from the upper west entrances. Through local knowledge of the park, police were able to locate the stranded hiker and remove him or her from the ledge with the assistance of Kamloops Fire.
No injuries were reported. Police did not say if the hiker was a man or a woman.
They said trails in the area are extremely slippery and urged caution by trail users.

Hiked with Alex Miller up PCreek 1977. Moss, slime, steep topography. Stupid to be solo. Why ask for trouble? Love Always, MarcusandTrish
