PETERS – Paint spill is smalltown gossip fodder, not proof teens are terrible
THE BIG PAINT SPILL this week is something that will go down in the annals of small-town gossip history for Logan Lake.
A 16-year-old is accused of emptying a huge paint drum on a parking lot, turning kilometres and kilometres of highway lines into one big pool of mustard-coloured waste.
What is, on its surface, a fairly minor incident, provides the perfect mix of ingredients to feed the B-Sers for months: it’s a rare occurrence, it cost a moderately large amount of money – and one of those punk kids was responsible.
“Kids these days.”
“Parents these days.”
“Our joke of a justice system.”
“Who’s gonna pay?”

This young punk needs to be forced to spend however long it takes to help clean up this mess. If that cannot be done outside a union contract which might require him to be paid, then he needs to be put in a position which will ensure he contributes in a meaningful way to the community he has wronged,. Here’s hoping something positive will come out of this for him.
