POLICE – Child on bicycle hit by vehicle while crossing road on way to school

Emergency responders were called to the intersection of Holt Street and Tranquille Road after a report of a child being struck by a vehicle this morning (Oct. 20, 2026).

Just after 8 a.m., RCMP received a report of a child being struck by a car while crossing the street at the intersection of Holt Street and Tranquille Road.

“The child was riding their bike with their parents and other children heading to school,” said RCMP Cpl. Dana Napier. “The BC Ambulance Service attended and transported the child to hospital, while the driver of the car stayed on scene and cooperated with police.”

The child suffered non-life-threatening injuries and the driver of the vehicle was charged under the Motor Vehicle Act.
