SPORTS – Kamloops Kia gets naming rights for Sandman Centre lounge

Kamloops Kia has been named as the new sponsor of the lounge at Sandman Centre on Lorne Street.
The naming of Kamloops Kia Lounge is a result of a sponsorship agreement between the Kamloops Blazers Hockey Club and Kamloops Kia for in-venue naming rights as part of the facility agreement with the Blazers. The new agreement provides the naming rights for the next three years.
“We are delighted to join hands with the Kamloops Blazers,” Heather Lewis, general manager of Kamloops Kia, said in a news release today (Aug. 21, 2023).
“As a local business, we believe in giving back to the community. Our sponsorship of the Kamloops Blazers is a testament to our dedication to fostering a vibrant and thriving city.”
The Kamloops Kia Lounge, located on the main level of Sandman Centre, is used throughout the year for Kamloops Blazers games, concerts, special events, and private and public gatherings.

With the names constantly changing does anyone really know where they are???
At least this will say Kamloops. They will know where the lounge is but where is Sandman Centre? I have, in the past lobbied the city to put “Kamloops” in front of any name of a facility no matter who pays. Kamloops Sandman Centre is the name it should have if you must lease the name to the highest bidder.
Two reasons – people know where it is and it promotes our cities name every-time it is read.
