POLICE – Woman who was shot in Valhalla Drive home dies of her injuries
The woman who was on life support after a shooting at a home on Valhalla Drive last weekend has died in hospital.
Her identity still hasn’t been released and the only information RCMP will reveal is that she was in her 30s.
Sunday (May 21, 2023), just after 6 p.m., Kamloops RCMP and paramedics were called to the 800-block of Valhalla Drive for a report of a woman who had been shot. She was taken to the hospital and had remained on life-support until earlier today (May 26, 2023), when she was taken off and succumbed to her injuries.
“This is a sad outcome to an act of violence now deemed a homicide,” said Supt. Jeff Pelley.
“Resources from our Serious Crime Unit, Forensic Identification Service Unit, General Investigation Support Team, Crime Reduction Unit, and frontline officers continue to progress the investigation.”
To “protect the integrity of the investigation,” no further information will be released at this time, police said. They say the victims family has requested privacy.
Anyone who witnessed, has information or video, and has not get contacted police, is asked to do so by calling the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and referencing file 2023-17869.
