POLICE – Bones found near Peterson Creek belong to missing Kelowna man

Joseph Driscoll.

Bones discovered near Peterson Creek last week have been confirmed as belonging to missing person Joseph Driscoll.

Driscoll, a 42-year-old Kelowna man, was last seen walking around the Valleyview area in the early hours of Nov. 12, 2022.

On Jan. 19, 2023, police received a report of suspected human bones discovered east of Peterson Creek, west of Rose Hill, above the 700-block of the East Trans Canada Highway.

“In working with the B.C. Coroner’s Service and with the Driscoll family, police can now confirm the bones did in fact belong to Joseph, and that he is deceased,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said today (Jan. 27, 2023).

“We do not suspect criminality in his disappearance at this time. Our thoughts go out to the Driscoll family.”

The Driscoll family has requested privacy.

Police and the B.C. Coroners Service continue to work on investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the remains.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation, or who may have come across any other bones in the area, is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file number 2023-2261.
