POLICE – Man killed while trying to cross Halston Connector

Investigators are looking for witnesses and video following a collision that  resulted in the death of an Alberta man last night (Jan. 5, 2023).

At about 6:30 p.m., Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP, Municipal Traffic, and Kamloops frontline officers responded to a collision on the Halston Connector, just east of Salish Road, involving a sedan and a man in his 30s who appeared to be trying to cross the roadway.

The Halston was closed for about five hours after the collision. The driver of the sedan remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.

“The sedan was travelling westbound at the time in the far right lane when the collision occurred,” said Cpl. Crystal Evelyn.

“If anyone witnessed or captured dashcam footage of the scene and has not get spoken with police, please contact investigators as soon as possible.”

The B.C. Coroners Service is conducting an investigation as well.
