CIVIC ELECTION – Applications for voting by mail in city are now open

Registration for mail ballot voting in the Kamloops 2022 Local General Election opened at 9 a.m. today (Sept. 6, 2022). Voters who wish to vote by mail must complete a form and submit it to the Chief Election Officer.

Voters can access the form by:

Residents have until 3:30 pm on Friday, Oct. 14, to apply for mail ballot voting. Applicants can choose to have their voting packages mailed to them if they apply by Oct. 2.

Residents who submit their applications after Oct. 2 will have to collect their voting packages from City Hall or send a designate to collect them.

Residents are responsible for ensuring that their completed ballots and documents are returned to City Hall and received by the Chief Election Officer by Saturday, Oct. 15, before the close of voting at 8 p.m. It is not sufficient to have a post-marked envelope dated before this deadline.

Ballots received after the deadline will not be counted. Residents are encouraged to start this process soon if they plan to receive and submit the applications by mail and then receive and submit their votes by mail as well.
