POLICE – Man collapses in Valleyview parking lot after shooting

A Kamloops man is in hospital after a shooting and police are looking for witnesses.

On Sunday (June 13, 2021) at about 5:32 p.m., Kamloops RCMP responded to the Save-On-Foods shopping centre in Valleyview after a report that a man had been shot.

The victim apparently walked into the parking lot and collapsed. Several bystanders provided first aid until first responders arrived on the scene. With the help of a police service dog, investigators believe the shooting took place near the Thompson River.

The victim was taken to the Royal Inland Hospital for treatment and is believed to be in stable condition.

Police are seeking witnesses who may have been in the area during this time frame and may have seen anything suspicious. Contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2021-19669 if you have any information related to this investigation.
