POLICE – Man collapses in Valleyview parking lot after shooting
A Kamloops man is in hospital after a shooting and police are looking for witnesses.
On Sunday (June 13, 2021) at about 5:32 p.m., Kamloops RCMP responded to the Save-On-Foods shopping centre in Valleyview after a report that a man had been shot.
The victim apparently walked into the parking lot and collapsed. Several bystanders provided first aid until first responders arrived on the scene. With the help of a police service dog, investigators believe the shooting took place near the Thompson River.
The victim was taken to the Royal Inland Hospital for treatment and is believed to be in stable condition.
