GINTA – How about that ‘CEOs and Office Hoes’ pub night?
NEWS TRAVELS FAST. The controversial stories even faster, more so when they have a risqué edge. Such was the case of the story hailing from our very own ‘small town/big city’ as I like to affectionally refer to Kamloops. It was about a pub and a certain eyebrow-raising event and it got people talking.
If you happened upon it, or heard someone mentioning it… yes, it is about the ‘CEOs and Office Hoes’, scheduled to take place this past Friday at one of the local watering holes, Cactus Jack’s. Yes, it is 2020 but cringe if you must; many did. I shifted uncomfortably in my seat when I stumbled upon the news on CBC. Some way to show off the community, I thought.
It’s not political correctness that made me cringe. It’s the kind of stuff you might be tempted to say whatever, to each their own. But then again, no.

Thinking of my sisters and nieces, I can’t imagine any of them would have wanted to grow up to become an “Office Hoe”.
That type of mentality apparently extends past the pub environment. Women who have been sexually abused in our national police force have committed suicide or suffer in silence the rest of their natural lives.
Thanks for writing this article.
The people running the club and the “entertainment” are like 15-16 year old boys who are just learning about double entendre and sex. A big giggle for them as they think they have done something clever. There are, believe it or not, mature men who still behave like this–think they are putting one over on women who, they hope, will blush and be embarrassed by their “naughty” jokes. Not a reflection on Kamloops, folks. Dare we hope that these “business” people grow up?
