ON THE AGENDA – Notices of motion on tax bills, biosolids applications
Highlights on Kamloops City council agenda, Tuesday, May 15, 2018:
- Staff will recommend that council authorize a joint venture with the Kamloops Blazers Hockey Club for construction of loge seating at the Sandman Centre, funded by the KBHC in the amount of $292,000.
- Council to consider allocating $5,000 from its contingency budget for mobile poll special voting opportunities in the 2018 general local election.
- Notice of motion from Coun. Pat Wallace that, starting in 2019, the City’s property tax bills have a separate line item showing the cost of the Employers Health tax to each property tax folio.
- Notice of motion from Coun. Arjun Singh that the City require public engagement before an application of biosolids, and that a third party do testing, and that a letter be written to the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy asking that public engagement be required prior to biosolids application and qualified third party testing.
