WHAT’S UP DOWNTOWN – Take a piece of Downtown Kamloops home with you!

TO US, DOWNTOWN Kamloops is home. We are extremely proud of our community and invite you to be a part of it.

We want to you stick around, explore the heart of our city and enjoy as much as you can. When the inevitable time comes for you to leave us, why not take a piece of Downtown Kamloops home with you?

Let’s start with the basics: clothing. We have such a unique variety of shops downtown and with more Spring fashions arriving in stores every week it’s a great time to pop in to your favourite shops.

I went out and was able to find just what I was looking for –  something bright and light for Spring. I settled on a cute top from Main Street Clothing.  My new blouse can be dressed up or down – I can’t wait to wear it on my next date night.

Speaking of date night — a couple of weeks ago I faced a common struggle that I have, wanting to go out on a date but not actually wanting to leave the house. That day when I went to Fratelli Foods for lunch, I noticed that they sold pizza dough and a perfect idea crossed my mind.

I grabbed the dough along with the necessary pizza supplies and was able to have a fun and creative date night at home. My husband and I had a great time throwing pizza dough, laughing, dancing to Italian inspired music and making a complete mess in the kitchen.

We came pretty close to re-creating a gag-worthy TV commercial that I’m sure my husband wouldn’t love me telling the world about– but, hey, that’s amore.

Downtown Kamloops also has some great options for re-decorating your home. The thrift stores are filled with great finds and if it’s local art work you’re after, The Art We Are carries an amazing variety of artwork. Plant/greenery lovers should also know Downtown is home to a lovely greenhouse.

If you’re not in the mood for food or shopping, why not grab some paint supplies for that project you’ve been meaning to finish, get the oil change you’ve been neglecting to get all winter, replace that old windshield (if you’re a commuter like me, you probably need one!) or treat yourself to that new lawn mower you’ve had your eye on. Downtown Kamloops has something for everyone.

Our website ( has a complete business directory with categories to cover all your shopping needs. When you shop downtown and find something fabulous and unique – don’t forget to share your experiences with us using hashtag #downtownkamloops.
