COLLINS – Is removing bridge tolls the best way to go?

THE NDP GOVERNMENT this week announced it was going to eliminate tolls on the Port Mann and the Golden Ears bridges.
It’s probably the first of many decisions the NDP government will make to support its voting base in the Lower Mainland. The NDP campaigned on removing the tolls, and they are now going ahead with their plan. It certainly isn’t unexpected.
The NDP need to ensure they maintain their support in the Lower Mainland, as those are the people who put them into power. It’s the wrong move, in my view, because it means everyone in the province is paying for bridges that only people in the Lower Mainland are using.

You are so unbelievable Doug Collins, it ain’t funny…I think it is the people of the lower mainland keeping us driving even in the middle of winter. That’s right Mr. Doug Collins, winter!

To say that we, in the interior, are not using these bridges is a pretty daft statement! Not having your car on the bridge does not mean we do not depend on the infrastructure? How do you believe your good and services get here? But the fact that it is an election move cannot be denied, let’s hope voters can see through that!
