POLICE – Victoria Street bank robbed again but suspect quickly caught
TD Bank on Victoria Street.
An alert cashier slipped an anti-robbery device into an envelope full of money, enabling police to quickly round up a suspect after the TD Bank on Victoria Street was robbed again this morning (June 9, 2017).
A man entered the bank at 11:10 a.m. and demanded money from the cashier, who gave him an envelope with cash but not before putting an anti-robbery device into it.
The man dropped the money a short distance from the bank and tried to leave the downtown area on foot, but RCMP soon arrested a 25-year-old suspect in the 300 block of Lansdowne Street. Police suspect the same man had unsuccessfully tried robbing the A&W on Lansdowne Street a short time before.
There were no injuries in either robbery.
The bank was previously robbed in February and again in March.

Mel – the use of a anti-robbery device should not be made public – by disclosing this you are putting people at risk in event of future hold ups – I have dealt with many hold ups over my career and they are to be taken serious as bank employees lives are at risk —
