ELECTION – Party leaders to square off in first and only televised debate

The softwood lumber dispute with the U.S. is sure to add fuel to the fire when the three party leaders square off tonight (April 26, 2017) in a televised debate. Andrew Weaver of the Greens, John Horgan of the NDP and Christy Clark of the Liberals meet face to face from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the debate, which will be broadcast on all major television and radio news networks. He released the party’s full election platform on Monday, with highlights including positions on the economy, lifelong learning, income security, climate action and affordable homes.
