ELECTION – Legislature dissolved, Milobar starts leave of absence
The provincial election officially got underway today (April 11, 2017) after Premier Christy Clark visited the lieutenant-governor and asked her to formally dissolve the legislature. The election takes place May 9.
…. With the election now on, Mayor Peter Milobar begins his leave of absence from City Hall. He still hasn’t said whether he will resign or extend his leave of absence if he wins the Kamloops-North Thompson riding for the Liberals.
…. B.C. Green Party leader Andrew Weaver released the party’s affordable homes strategy today, including a transition from home owner grants to a system of income-based grants starting in 2019, as well as a surtax based on property value. Tomorrow, he’ll hold a rally in Victoria at which environmentalist David Suzuki will speak.
…. Liberal candidates Peter Milobar and Todd Stone will be following past practice for the party by refusing to attend “one-issue” forums, saying they’ll use the time to knock on doors instead. That means the only major forum they’ll likely attend is the media forum set for April 25 at TRU.
That is called “not making a decision”, it is also called “having your cake and eating it too”, this is a good example of Milobar’s character and should reflect on his results, should, I said should, but for myself I want him to not be Mayor any longer, evidently he wants to cling to that EVEN IF HE WINS THIS ELECTION? What an example of greed and self-love.
