EDITORIAL – Might be time to put up a parking lot on old KDN site
Sadly awaiting its fate.
Almost a year after the deadline for proposals on what to do with the old KDN building, there’s still no word on what the City is thinking

ANY TIME you drive downtown along Seymour Street you’ll pass a big, empty, very sad brick building on the corner of Fourth Avenue.
It has a habit of sitting empty between engagements.
Once, it was a department store, then it was the city’s daily newspaper, and then there were high hopes it would become a performing arts centre.

The doldrums of winter are getting to you Mr. MR…please take a vacation in the sun somewhere.

It does look that way from the photo…a little tan looks refreshing…
Now about the parkade…let the “downtown mall” merchants pay for it…as a first thought.
On a second thought, parking below and living/business space above and convert Seymour Street back to two-ways. Let’s “bond it” together!

-It should be turned into a huge gateway computer building, hosted by TRU for the purposes of transferring data globally, that could be (as well) used as a instructional and job placement site for graduates from the TRU computer programs -to get good instruction on up-to-date equipment servicing the larger global technology field, whereby the monetary gain would sufficiently support other tech fields into Kamloops and increase the interest in our very good computer programs and education out of TRU. Win, Win.
