ROTHENBURGER – Who will be mayor when dust settles on B.C. election?

The question of whether or not a by-election will be held for mayor remains up in the air until Peter Milobar decides whether he’ll resign or take a leave of absence if he becomes an MLA-elect

WITH LITTLE MORE than a couple of weeks before the writ is dropped and we enter the Campaign Proper, mystery still surrounds one of the more intriguing local aspects of the upcoming election — who will be mayor when the dust settles?

The central question remains: by-election, or no by-election?

To recap, the most logical scenario would be for Mayor Peter Milobar, if he becomes the MLA in the riding across the river from where he lives (sorry, I just have a thing about people living where they run, but all the North Shore candidates are in the same boat), he extends his unpaid leave of absence from City Hall until the beginning of next year.

  2. I think in the context of council and its usefulness we need to cite, as an example, the proposed bike path to Sahali. Great idea in principle but let’s think about the cost…3.2 millions for 1.7 kilometers? And no one says anything?
    We need people to question. Could you?
