ROTHENBURGER – A ‘tail’ of too many dogs and cats, and why term limits are worth considering

MLA Simon Gibson with friend. (Facebook)

TERM LIMITS have never floated my boat. I’ve always been of the view that voters are capable of deciding when a politician has overstayed his or her welcome.

I might be rethinking that. This week, Green Party Leader Andrew Weaver introduced a bill to limit B.C. MLAs to three terms, 12 years. Premiers would be limited to eight years in the top job.

  1. Up the Valley here someone on the other side of the river has been trapping cats and dumping them off on our side We now have 7,and cat grub ain,t cheap. If the two term rule is not introduced perhaps we could do the same.and pop them down in Merritt or Alberta.Todd Stone would be my choice, along with his boss, for exportation.
If there were no pensions or at least much smaller ones,we would probably get better people in Govt.

  2. I agree with term limits also. 2 terms for Premiers And MLAs though. This should also apply at the municipal & city level. And PLEASE, get rid of politicians pensions, most of these people are already well off, and do not need any further support from us.
