One Stage Road property was added to the order while the order for a neighbor was rescinded. Several other properties on Stanley Park Drive, Trans Canada Highway East, Stage Road and the Riverside Mobile Home Park on Old Cariboo Road remain under evacuation orders.

Several other roperties on Old Cariboo Road and west of the Bonaparte River and north of Todd Road remain on alert.

A reception centre for evacuees is in operation at the Cache Creek Community Hall. The Canadian Red Cross also opened a “resiliency centre” today in the community hall, which will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. until June 2. Those needing assistance can receive an assessment to identify potential needs.

The Red Cross will work with local agencies to coordinate recovery services for residents affected by the floods.

Premier Christy Clark toured Cache Creek today for a look at the damage, calling it “unbelievable.” The government announced yesterday that residents whose insurance won’t cover flood damage can apply for disaster financial assistance.

Damage is expected to be in the millions.
