Michaud, gravely wounded when he was shot during a traffic stop Dec. 3, was transported to Vancouver just before Christmas when he suffered complications during his recovery.

“His condition has now stabilized to the point where he was able to return to Kamloops,” Cpl Cheryl Bush said today (Monday).

A day-long manhunt followed the early morning incident Dec. 3, leading to the arrest of 36-year-old Kenneth Michael Knutson.

Michaud’s family issued a statement last week thanking the community for its support during his recovery.
