Symphony opens season with spirit

ARTS — The Kamloops Symphony kicks off its season with Sublime Spirit on Saturday, Sept. 27, 7 p.m. at the Sagebrush Theatre.



The symphony will be joined by guest soloist Sara Davis Buechner for the Classic Series program.

Buechner is an award-winning concert pianist who has been praised by the New York Times as a musician of “intelligence, integrity and all-encompassing technical prowess.”

She has an active repertoire of more than 100 piano concertos and has appeared as a soloist with several of the world’s most prominent orchestras including New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Vancouver, the CBC Radio Orchestra, Japan Philharmonic, and BBC Philharmonic.

Canadian composer Emily Doolittle, Chopin, and Schubert make up a melodic program. Tickets are on sale at Kamloops Live! Box Office, 250-374-5483 or Tickets may also be purchased at the door.
