COMMUNITY — The Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice House received $21,150 from Sun Rivers Golf Course recently thanks to the annual Sun Rivers Breastate UnClassic.

The tournament raises money for the hospital and increases awareness about breast and prostate cancer, encouraging participants and the public to “Get Checked.”

One hundred twenty registered players took part. The event began with a “tailgate party,” lunch, cart decorating and pre-event games, and ended with dinner and prizes.

“We’re proud to be able to host a much anticipated golf tournament that is packed full of fun, enthusiasm and energy from not only the volunteers, sponsors and staff but also participants,” said Rob Larocque, the general manager for Sun Rivers clubhouse.

The next Breastate Classic will be Aug. 13, 2015.

Sponsors for this year’s event included Sun Rivers Ltd. Partnership, Con-Ex Civil Contractors, KGHM International, River City Nissan, McElhanney, Graphic Depictions, Westkey, Kodiak Mechanical, Coriz, Corix Water, Home Hardware, Extreme Excavating, Bridgeport Floors and Interior Savings.
