800 took part in 7th Bike to Work Week
NEWS/ COMMUNITY — The numbers are in for the 7th annual Kamloops Bike to Work Week and the news is good — 801 people took part this year, 218 of whom were new riders.
During the week of May 26 to June 2, people were asked to park their cars and bike to work.
“The number of new riders is really exciting for us because each year we hope to get more riders out on the road and show them how fun and easy it is to bike to work,” coordinator Krystal Kehoe said today.
“During the week we heard many inspiring stories at our celebration stations about how Bike to Work week has encouraged people to get on their bikes and about how they continue to keep it up throughout the year. We hope the new riders keep biking to work.
The grand prize — a new commuter bike — will be presented Tuesday afternoon at Nature’s Fare.

A big Thank you to the co-coordinators and the volunteers that made this past Bike to Work Week event such a huge success. So much fun for everyone, Kamloops does ride bikes and we love them.
