Charges expected today in Clearwater murder
NEWS/ POLICE — Charges are expected today in connection with the murder of a Clearwater woman over the weekend.
Police surrounded a Joyce Road home in north Clearwater for several hours and took a man into custody late Monday. The victim was found dead about 10 a.m. in her home on Steeg Road.
It’s believed she was killed Sunday night. Three children, one of whom attends Raft River elementary school in Clearwater, were safely removed from the Joyce Road home in which the man was located. They are aged six, four and two.
Police have declined to say where the children are being looked after and haven’t released the name of the suspect.
Counsellors were at the school today to support the students and staff.
The victim, identified by CFJC-TV and in other media reports as Angela Wilson, was a licenced practical nurse at Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital. Mayor John Harwood, who knew the victim, described her as “very, very hard-working.” Reports said she had separated recently from her common-law husband.
