Thanks for being polite in your comments
MONDAY MORNING EDITORIAL — Something’s happening in the blogosphere, and it’s something good.
It’s called civility. The comments coming into The Armchair Mayor News on a wide range of topics over the past several weeks have been polite, thoughtful and informative.
Things aren’t always that way on the Internet. Newspaper websites, for example, have often deteriorated into the written equivalent of shouting matches as commenters compete with one another to see who can be the rudest or most irrelevant.
Many’s the time the editors of the newspaper the Armchair Mayor once worked for had to call for cooling off periods and plea for us all to show a little more of that famous Canadian politeness. Sometimes things would settle down, but never for long.
The experience has been quite different on these pages. Maybe it’s in the water, or in the air. Who knows?
Whatever the reason, it’s really quite pleasant. Doesn’t make things any less interesting, either. Disagreement isn’t always a bad thing — it’s all in how you go about it.
Comments and letters are much appreciated here at The Armchair Mayor News — this is a humble news and opinion blog that relies on a little help from a few friends and your interest and willingness to participate.
Thanks for adding to the discussion.
Thanks to my father who informed me about this webpage, this weblog is actually amazing.
