B.C. ELECTION – Five to run in Kamloops Centre, three in Kamloops-N. Thompson

The lineup is set for the Oct. 24, 2026 provincial election. As the nomination deadline passed on the weekend, five candidates got their papers in for Kamloops Centre but only three for Kamloops-North Thompson.

Running in Kamloops Centre are Annelise Beach (BC Green Party), Rocky McAfee (OneBC), incumbent Peter Milobar (Conservative Party), Thaelo Proctor (Independent) and Mike Wisla (BC NDP). The Kamloops-North Thompson riding will be contested by Kory Clark (BC NDP), Deborah Friesen (OneBC) and incumbent Ward Stamer (Conservative Party).

The Greens had hoped to parachute party co-founder John Kidder in to Kamloops-North Thompson but his name isn’t on the Elections BC list of candidates.

In the nearby riding of Fraser-Nicola are Jason Leboe (BC NDP), Tony Luck (Conservative Party) and Patrick Michell (BC Green Party).

BC Conservative leader Lorne Doerkson will be up against Kathryn Askew (BC NDP) and Douglas Gook (BC Green Party) in Cariboo-Chilcotin.

  1. It is very possible that the NDP will lose . I wonder if Peter Milobar will roll over when his fifth choice of parties start the long legal process of trying to undo DRIPA. Also the undoing of a royalties system that allows gas and oil companies to hose us taxpayers will be tricky as Conservatives are gas and oil minions.

    • Just looked again, just now and the official Conservative platform is still “coming soon”.

For me personally if it isn’t officially up by Oct 8, 2026 at 8am, I’m not supporting a Conservative platform that says “coming soon”.

I’ve got hunting to do that will take me away from both the Civic and Prov Election.

My opinion already is Milobar is a flip flopper, I’m not impressed. He amongst many other MLA in this Conservative Party supported DRIPA.In fact all Political Party’s across BC unanimously passed DRIPA.

Milobar said it was easy to make the move from Liberal to Conservative.Milobar and Conservative Party assured BC a Liberal Conservatives could stay strong and United..That failed in epic proportions.

3 Strikes and you are out.Milobar and Conservative Party have had way more than 3 strikes against them.

If that Official Platform isn’t up by the time I vote, so I can verify my core values with them, I’ll be Voting something else.I’ve looked at OneBC and saw the one thing that caught my eye and attention.

No provincial government participation in any federal firearms buy-back or confiscation program for legally acquired firearms

Provincial legal representation provided to firearms owners having their firearm rights violated by the federal government

Provincial firearms storage program in case federal buy-back or confiscation program risks taking a law-abiding British Columbian’s legally obtained firearmsI like this. Its enough for me to say I may just support them.

Being a firearms owner and supporter, they may just get my Vote.
