The Thompson-Nicola Regional Distrist is looking for any information from the public following significant vandalism at Ferry Road Park in Blackpool.

The incident occurred shortly before June 29, 2026. Paint was sprayed on trees, garbage bins, on the park bench, and throughout the outhouse at the park. The outhouse door actuator was also broken, which prevents the door from closing.

Repair work is underway, the TNRD says. Repair costs are funded through the park operating budget. Anyone with information about the vandalism is asked to contact the Clearwater RCMP detachment at 250-674-2237 – file number 2026-800004.

“Community parks are there to benefit the community,” says the TNRD in a news release.

“Don’t vandalize the parks. If you are caught after an incident like this, you will be fined by the TNRD and may be criminally charged for your actions under the Criminal Code of Canada.

“We thank the vast majority of park users who enjoy the parks in a respectful manner, and we encourage you to get outside and enjoy your local parks this summer.”
