FIRE – Family hospitalized after early morning fire at Sitka Street home

A family remained in hospital today (Oct. 20, 2025) after an early morning residential fire on the North Shore.

On Oct. 18, 2025, RCMP frontline were called by Kamloops Fire Rescue around 4:20 a.m. to assist near the 1300-block of Sitka Street where large amounts of smoke were visible in the area.

“All three residents were able to get out of the house, unfortunately they did suffer injuries as a result of the fire and remain in hospital in serious condition,” said Cpl. Dana Napier.

“The investigation into the cause of the fire is in the early stages and continues to be ongoing.”

The General Investigation Service Team is working with Kamloops Fire Rescue to determine the cause of the fire. Anyone with information related to the incident is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and cite file 2025-34788.
