FEATURED COMMENT – The Last Straw: Do not go quietly into the night
In June of this year we spoke out and said something about what we were feeling about the Mayor of Kamloops and our City Council. We kept it fun by making it into a satirical news broadcast from our resident camel puppet at the studio.
Yes, we could have done a better job and spent more time on it. We will admit that, but our intention was to stand up and say something about the waste of time we felt was being spent on manipulative personal agendas and infighting. It was meant to open up some conversations and add another perspective that we weren’t seeing within our community.
What we did not expect was for four of our video production clients to phone and email the studio saying how appalled they were with our video and that they were cancelling their business and never working with us again.
We were shocked. We have stayed silent about this until now because we feared further cancel culture retaliations. But, bad things happen when good people stay silent. Those good people also then become part of the problem.
So to all of the good people out there, use your hearts and be brave. If you see injustice say something. Do not go quietly into the night. May 2025 bring all of us a little more love and less hate.

Soo … I watched the video in question, and I immediately worked out that this was an ‘Onion’ or ‘Beaverton’ style piece … but focusing on an actual series of events rather than fiction for the pure comedy. In other words … I got it.
I also saw that it was factually accurate, and any opinion offered in it actually paralleled the communities sense of whats going on at City Hall.
What I wanna know is who the 4 clients Mastermind had, that cancelled their business with them over some kind of cancel culture mentality … when the opinion they shared was accurate.
I would intentionally bypass providing my business with these 4 companies reaction to cancel a production company over basically nothing. Obviously they are not going to announce who these butt hurt companies are as it would sink their production business and likely open them up to legal liability from these companies.
Still … Id like to know.

I have a business in town and have often feared the repercussions if I speak truly. There is something very rotten going on in this city and it’s funded in large part by our own tax dollars. So step 1 is to not rely on clients who are paying with tax money.
