POLICE – Screams signal assault with weapon at Lac Le Jeune home

 An assault with a weapon led police to a home in Lac Le Jeune today (April 29, 2024), with two people taken to hospital.

Kamloops RCMP said a disturbance escalated into the assault.

Around 7:45 a.m., officers were dispatched to an address on the 1600-block of Lac Le Jeune Road where a man could be heard screaming inside a residence. As police were en route, additional reports were received indicating an assault had occurred involving weapons.

“On scene, two people were transported to hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries,” said Cpl. Crystal Evelyn.

“At this time, the incident appears to be targeted and the general public is not believed to be at risk.”

She said the investigation is still early and ongoing, with assistance from the General Investigations Support Team, Police Dog Services, Forensic Identification Services, and frontline officers.
