POLICE – Suspect arrested after physical altercation on City transit bus

A suspect was quickly taken into custody following a report of a physical confrontation involving a weapon this afternoon (Wed., Jan. 31, 2024).

Around 3:52 p.m., Kamloops RCMP responded to the 100-block of Victoria Street West, where a group of people were allegedly engaged in a physical altercation on a public transit bus, and one of them had a weapon.

“Thanks to the fast response of frontline officers, a suspect was quickly located, taken into custody, and no serious injuries were reported,” said Corp. Crystal Evelyn.

Anyone who witnessed, captured video, or has information related to this investigation is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2024-3126.

  1. David Suzuki advocates for a shift from private vehicles to transit. David Suzuki should try riding the bus in Kamloops for a week.

    He’ll be at the dealership buying a F150 faster than you can say “random assault”.
