PETERS – Instead of banning cellphones in classrooms, teach responsible use

Is it actually good for the students? The jury is split.
On its face, cellphone use in classrooms is little more than pure distraction.
The devices contain the potential for all manner of entertainment that would take eyes and minds away from the lesson of the day.

I think we would be just fine banning cell phones from the classrooms while teaching the pupils the responsible use of technology. While we are at it (teaching that is) the teachers should also teach the responsible use of resources including energy. For sure the teachers should be consulted though.
