LETTER – Don’t trivialize concerns of parents about sexualization of children
To The Armchair Mayor,
To trivialize the deep concerns of multitudes of parents of all gender, race and religions, is unworthy of the Armchair Mayor, and certainly unworthy of the long respected and often disagreed with Mel Rothenburger.
To dismiss the sexualization of children, starting in kindergarten as just a matter of pronouns under the Sexual Orientation and Gender ideology is a flaw so serious that it must be challenged by anyone not captured by the woke agenda of the liberal left.
If you could listen, as I have, to the words of multitudes of parents from all races and religions, expressing what they are experiencing in every area of the country, which has led them to leave their homes to join in the Million Man March 4 Children, you would have to admit that these are not idle concerns of a few disgruntled naysayers.
As you said, children have a right to be protected. Who will do it if not their parents? Yet the state is trying to strip away their rights under the supposed but completely erroneous idea that ideologues know more about children’s true needs than the parents who are raising them.
The arrogance of this position has finally found an answering rallying cry in a Muslim man willing to tell the truth and rally parents of all religions including Christians to say again, as Tamara Lich did so bravely and peacefully, “Enough is enough.”
To dismiss the courage and fortitude of multitudes of truckers in leaving their homes and families and livelihoods, to state their demands for freedom in a peaceful protest was to miss what has been happening in Canada. (I agree that all the horn honking was annoying and wrong.)
Our freedoms have been progressively stripped away to the point that a large part of the populace has at last pushed back. Our Charter of Rights and Freedoms has been completely ignored and overridden by a government which would rather roll out the unnecessary Emergencies Act rather than come out and meet the organizers in a civil manner.
Mr. Rothenburger, “you are on the wrong side of both movements.”
Canadians are a notoriously undemonstrative people, but when pushed far enough, they will cast off the tyranny of the woke idealists and set this country free at last.
Today’s march of more or less than a million will be swelled by the untold multitudes of parents and grandparents standing in agreement on the sidelines.
ALLEN HERN

Loosen up Mel. Unfortunately I feel that you always think you are right. Mr. Hern is right.
